This dealership is absolutely deplorable, the absolute worst place you could ever go to buy a car! The pride themselves on being able to get anyone a car no matter what, an that no matter what may mean selling someone a car that is going to put them further behind then they already are or leave them on the side of the road. For example selling a vehicle that has a mechanical problem, promising to fix it and then not. Another example selling a vehicle that is considered a gray market vehicle, then selling an extended warranty on the same vehicle knowing that the warranty company would reject it due to being a gray market vehicle. To top it off when this was brought to the attention of Ben Footh, the owner himself he turned his shoulder and decided to be ignorant about his wrong doing. I received lots of rude text messages as well as voicemails form Ben Footh and his general manager Ken. I was told that they would take care of the problem as long as i signed a document stating i wouldn't post any negative comments in regards to the dealership. Instead of making sure that i was taken care of as a customer they were more worried about their reputation. Think twice before ever going to this dealership! They will *** you over any way they can just to get a sale....

Forced into the sale? I call complete BS.

Looking at these guys reputation outside of your statement it sounds like the only mistake they made was selling you a car. You sound like the 1% of customers that most businesses hope to never deal with.

Experience with Footh

We needed another reliable vehicle to rely on, we got one from another dealership you know the one "no money down, bad credit" It was not reliable it kept breaking down, we signed a contract that they would fix bumper to bumper for 75,000 miles. That was a lie!! So we went to Footh Auto Sales in St. Paul and Tony was really helpful showed us all the vehicle in our price range and we got one. Ben the other sales person even brought down the vehicle to my significant other's work see it and sign documents. That was really convenient. We love the vehicle and so far so no problem. Thanks Footh Auto Sales Mr. & Mrs. Powell

I found this website before i bought, and now I came back to tell....

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I was told to check out Footh by my uncle who bought his truck from Ben many years back, Like I always do I went to look them up online. I read all of the google reviews and then came to this website because of the title.

I wasn't very shocked to see a few unhappy reviews but i was equally surprised by all of the people who came here to leave good marks. In todays world i feel that people are very entitled and I too felt obligated to come back here and tell of my buying experience.

I am a 26 year old female so going into car dealers makes me very nervous. Even with what my uncle said about seeing Ben i still didn't know what to expect. My first impression was that it was a smaller building but when I walked in I was shocked by how everyone looked professional.

I wealth with the owner Ben and ken the manager. Both guys were very nice and could tell i was unsure about what i wanted. Ken was a saint and pulled up like 8 cars for me until i found the right one. When i came back inside to do the loan process Ben could tell i was still a little uncomfortable.

He suggested that I take the night to think on it and call him back in the morning. He offered to hold the car and he didn't even ask me to put any money down. I went home and talked it over with my bf and called my uncle. I looked up the kelly blue book values and reviews on the car to be sure it was what I wanted.

I called Ben in the morning to let him know I wanted the car, and that I would be back around lunch time. I came in on my break and Ken had all of the paperwork ready and my new toyota was fully cleaned!

The price was good, they got me a 5.99% interest with a credit union for my first loan, and the car is beautiful. I could not be happier. I am a server at apple bees and can tell you that no matter what there is always some people are going to be unhappy no matter what.

Footh auto is a good dealer and the only place I will buy ..EVER. I hope someone reads this review and gives them a chance like I did.

LONG story short...

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
So long story short; my family and I have been car-less since October of 2017. Going that long without a car has been everything but pleasureable. We’ve been up and down to every single dealership and not one has helped us as much as Footh auto did. They’re willing to work with you, their employees are magnificent, and their selection of cars are great. Special shoutout to Ken Seebeck though... hospitable, funny, and a wonderful business man. Footh has been there since 2011 and I have to say that I am impressed by how they treat people. dealers are known for treating people poorly especially when they have bad credit, these guys at footh made me feel right at home. Good luck guys!

Felt like a scam

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I applied online... Called spoke with Ken and Tony. I insisted that I life miles away from the dealer and if they can be sure the approval is in order before I drive up.. Tony, Yup 100%. So I go. Conversation when like this... Me.:i would like to be at $300 to $350. Tony: OK. Like that suburban? Me: Yea, what's the price? Tony:$19k. Me: what? $19k for a suv with 160k?. Tony: OK. How about the 2013 Nissan pathfinder? Me: how much? Tony: the bank wants you in a newer car/truck? Me:ok. So, how much for the Nissan pathfinder? Tony: $25k, me: the *** $25k for a 2013 pathfinder with 60k miles? Kbb says it's worth $15k? Tony: well, the bank wants you at new car or truck, for when they repossess the car truck.. Me: wait what? So, you are jacking up the car price by $6k to $10k and hoping they bank repo?.. Ben footh ads: we want your business, you family, your friends, your mail man.. Ect.. We treat you like family! Me: hold up... Is that how you treat family? By ripping them off?? Wow.. Moral of the evening: this is a place where they don't list the prices for the cars/truck on their website for a reason. Don't need to be a scientist to figure that out. They get you to go in and feed on the desperateness of they client, why the good reviews? Because 99% of the cat sold are sold to people that really needs a car, can't get financing and they eat em alive with the price. Client walk out because the get a car and hopeful to make the next car payment. Curious about the repo rate. Bottom line. I gently got up and walk to my car and leave... #dontfallforsuckersthatacttobehonestinthislife!

I work at Ford franchise store and know the guys at a FoothAuto. First off, lenders do not allow dealers to sell for over NADA or blackbook guidelines.

If I didn’t know any better I’d guess you are a disgruntled used car dealer. My guess is that Footh doesn’t put prices up because they are looking to get people to call them and ask.

Not a tactic my store uses but it surely doesn’t make them dishonest. If they advertised a vehicle for $20,000 and then told you $25,000 then I’d agree with you.

Goes by loan to value my friend. So if they jack your trade up the price goes to to where they want it with credit acceptance

Guest

I'm calling BS. I have bought two cars from footh and sent probably over a dozen friends and coworkers to buy from them.

Not one time have I ever heard anyone complain that they are doing loans for repo's. The fact is that the banks are the ones who give the loans and I make my payment straight to a bank. Now if you are complaining about a high payment or high interest percentage then its prolly because yoor credit is very low or just really bad.

Also if what you were saying was true there reviews would not be as good as they are!MORAL of the story, don't blame bank approval on your mishaps. Tony helped me nd did a good job.!

You are either an idiot or just clueless or maybe you are a footh owner or employees.. Lol.

So, let me educate you on financing. Sales which i footh would gain a client and put together you file, irgardless if there is a fantastic score or the most horrible score. The bank rely on the vender acting as an agent to provide the best possibles information and or documentation to then for approvals. So, in essence, footh would then manipulate their system for the approval especially if the bank is called credit acceptance.

So, sitting there goes like this: me, why are you selling the 2013 pathfinder for $25k? Tony: because I up your trade a 2008 sonata that worth $2k for $8k. That don't make sense. The only way it would, would be to manipulate the approval, which in turn would get you the car at a higher payment and paying double for the car.

If none of that makes sense to you, then call and ask why are they not transparent with their prices on line? Maybe? This may be a term too high forbyour understanding.. The bank and dealer are responsible for something call ability and willingness to repay.

I would suggest that the local consumer enforce and federal government investigation on how the approval is being issued to cause the repo rate within the automotive industry.. Just saying..

I had a lousy experience with the boys at Footh also.Dealt with Ken & Tony who made me feel comfortable through the whole buying ordeal.Left there a few hours later with a 2013 Ford Fusion then in aprox 2weeks I get a threatening text message from Tony that I need to put a GPS on the car or it will be repoed. The papers I signed stated that the car must have till the loan is paid off a GPS.So why wasnt one put on before I left the lot? Drove to the Goodyear in Inver grove and one was put on.2 days later I get another threatening text from Tony demanding me to bring down my W-2's as they didnt believe that I make 100k a year.Me looking to up my credit score so I could buy a house as Ive paid cash for everything for the last 30 years including two brand new Fords.I had no credit history and Footh was a bad mistake to try and fix it.I was to either bring in the W-2's or face repo and the loss of my $2500 down payment.Past practice was you dont drive off with the car unless all the i's are dotted and the t's crossed. These gents talked real tough on the phone so they are getting the car back because nobody see's my W-2's except myself and the bank.Their claim that they can act as bank workers will now be explained by them to the Mn.Atty General. They didnt get to keep my down payment, instead I had to pay the equivalent of a two week car rental which was fair to me just to be rid of these bungling clowns. Also when I dropped off the vehicle and to collect my $1700 I brought my neighbor who is a law enforcement officer along for the fact that they are basically con artists.Ken tried to not give me my check untill a later date but I insisted the Atty General said my money will be returned upon arrival. He then agreed to the Atty General's orders after they both ,Ken & Tony took a look at the cop who was with me.In plain clothes you can still spot my neighbor a mile away.My advice is to steer clear of this business as they operate close to the edge of legality.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I want to say a few words about the excellent service and GREAT car I bought from Footh Auto Sales. I couldn't be happier with the customer service that I received and the quality of the automobile that I purchased. I recommend anyone looking for a trustworthy dealer to visit Footh Auto Sales. I purchased a 2005 Cadillac STS 3 years ago and to date have only had to change the oil and replace the battery. I check their website frequently as I would love to buy from them again, but my current car just won't quit. I will certainly be back to see them There is no doubt in my mind that these guys do every thing in their power to sell quality automobiles. I am an old retired guy and after all these years I am pleased to see that there are reputable small family companies still around.

Money down the drain

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I would NOT recommend this place to anyone. They are a total rip off and I felt pressured into buying my overpriced Camery. Then to top it off before I left the lot they made sure I gave them a great google review. (for a full tank of gas.) They had great personalities and it was a laugh while I was there and helped me transfer my things. However, they are CONS.. A half an hour after I pulled of the lot I went to return because I was not satisfied with the price and they told me I couldn’t.. They didn’t have all my documentation required before letting me leave with the car and come to find out the loan company didn’t even do a employment check until after the sale was final. I am NOW stuck with an over price car which has double the standard yearly mileage. I went to a Toyota dealership after they refused to return it just to compare and talk to a car sales man and get the value of mine. I could have bought a new Camery for 7,000 more than what I purchased this one for given the circumstances. Please beware of this place and I advise you to bring a third party in with you because they will take you for a ride alright! This is being looked into further. but for now, I just thought I’d voice my experience to all of you.

I was car shopping for almost 3 months and a co-worker told me to check out Fooths auto. I saw a lot of really good reviews and like others this cite caught my attention because of the name. Well, it is true. Footh is WAY different than other dealerships. the owner Ben is a upstanding guy and his sales staff are just like him. I have owned over 30 vehicle in my life and it makes me happy to see that GOOD businesses like footh auto still exist. I give them my highest recommendation and can tell anyone looking with that utmost confidence that Footh Auto is a great dealer to go through.

I did much research before pulling the trigger on a new truck. I went to footh auto sales and 9 months later i am very content with my choice.

I had a repair concern on my alternator around 4 months after and these guys gave me a loaner vehicle. Just like others I will only buy from footh auto sales.

We got hosed!

I retract the following statement! "Thanks to Carlos and all the guys at Footh Auto!

My husband and I have a great new Ford Escape. It was a great experience no pressure sales. I would recommend them to anyone. " This place is one big scam!

PLEASE DO NOT give any of your hard earned money to this place. I don't know how Ben Footh is still in business. He has at least one law suit that has been going on for 2 years. And countless other bad business dealings.

If you have gotten bit like my husband & I PLEASE call The Better Business Bureau and the Attorney General 's office and put in a formal complaint. BBB info.

What you see aint what you get.

I dont believe these clowns are still in buisness. They guarantee to get you a loan but dont mention the price you pay for such a loan.On 2/28/18 I walked into Footh looking for a newer version of a Ford Fusion, they had one.I havnt used my credit for 30 + years as I have been able to pay cash for whatever I want except a house.Paying cash all those years left me with zero credit, enter Footh Auto Sales,The person who wrote money down the drain told my story almost exactly. The Fusion I was interested in had snow & ice in all the right places, they didnt wash it before I drove off.Of course I complained and they said Dan's in Inver Grove Heights would make the dents the keyed paint job the broken ground effects the bare metal rub marks and stained interior all ok. Before that could happen I recieved a threatening text message that I had to put a GPS on the car or it would be repo-ed on me.Had the GPS put on, after having the car for two weeks I get another threatening text that I had to bring down my W 2 forms or they would repo the car. When I asked how they can repo when I havn't even made the first payment yet their responce was that I signed a form that they can act as agents for the loan company. That wasn't mentioned in the overview of any of the 24 forms I signed. My neighbor is a cop and told me to call the attorney general after they threatened to take my down payment when I told them I was returning the car. That was the best advise I could have got, ended up having to give them rental car cost for two weeks $710.00 not the whole $2500 they said they were taking.

So you lied on a finance application and now your mad the dealer? And now you are slandering them? Did you tell your neighbor "cop" that you are a lying piece of *** Unreal....some people!

Guest

Dear Mr. *****,You were told up front that all of the information you put on the credit application MUST be 100% TRUTHFUL and that you were required to provide the documentation verifying the information you put on the application.

Unfortunately you were unable to provide these items in order to confirm the loan approval, and thus you were given the option of providing the information needed or the vehicle would be re-possessed. Yes we do charge detailing and usage fees if a vehicle is returned because of false statements put on the original application; you signed off on this and were aware of this at the time of sale. If we chose not to have this policy and not to charge penalties, nothing would prevent fraud and people from simply joy riding our vehicles. Our goal is ALWAYS to earn customers business and loyalty, this is how we are able to keep the lights on.

In this situation YOU blatantly lied on your credit application in direct violation of both State of MN and Federal Law. Had you been truthful up front we may have been able to convince the lender of the approval rather than having them back out of the loan on the basis of fraudulent credit statements.Either way we appreciate the opportunity to earn your business!

I was referred to Footh auto sales from a friend. They were decent guys to work with and had a good selection of inventory but there were a few things that I wish were a little different. For example I wish that they would dress a little nicer perhaps wear ties. I’m just used to having a little more of a upscale experience when buying a used vehicle. Also no coffee machine, doesn’t seem like a huge deal but I need my caffeine and this seems to me like a pretty basic necessity at any car dealership. Other than that my experience was pleasant, and my car has been operating as it should. Again, I’m not overly excited about my experience, but then again I dread car shopping so maybe that has something to do with it

A TRULY Exceptional Car Dealership, please read

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Shopping for a new car is probably the most unenjoyable thing for me aside from furniture shopping. Then.... I stumbled across Footh’s Auto Sales. I saw a video on Facebook that caught my attention so I decided to make the journey all the way from Duluth! Immediately when I pulled on their lot no one came running or bothered me. Eventually after 15 minutes of wandering a very nice salesman named Ken came out to ask if he could assist me. I drove 6 different vehicles and really took my time with each one. Ken was super patient and never pushed me or really pressured me at all. When I narrowed it down and decided to finance I couldn’t believe how simple the process was. I didn’t get passed off to a finance representative like my previous experience. Ken pulled my credit and had me approved with a credit union in about 20 minutes. I watched him grab the approval off the fax machine and walk it straight to me. He explained that they do not mark up interest rates like most dealers and showed me the rate of 2.49%!! He was very clear that the credit union gave the dealer what’s called a participant fee of $250 for boming the loan with them. During my entire process of buying I’ve never seen up close how a dealer operates. I watched the sales staff at Footh work together as a team and trest other customers the exact same way I was treated. If I didn’t live 2 hours away I would’ve literally asked to work there myself. I also met the owner Ben Footh who really impressed me. I saw him systematically check in with every customer including myself to make sure they were having a pleasant experience. I am a very quick read on people and I can tell you with certainty (it’s what I do for a living) that the guys at Footh are as about as down to earth you’re going to find at any business. I left Footh feeling completely satisfied with my decision and also refreshed to know that there is good used car dealers out there :)

Drove 2 hours to buy from Footh Auto Sales, well worth the trip! They SUPPORT POLICE AND MILITARY MEMBERS!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I saw Footh Auto Sales showcased on a Fox 9 news special about the State of Minnesota not printing titles for dealers and customers. I thought it was pretty cool that they would stick their necks out to fix the problem but also I saw them flying 2 flags from the top of their sign. A Police Support and Gadsden Military Flag, this GOT MY ATTENTION. Doing my due diligence I researched them and saw an abundance of Positive Reviews. This site caught my eye because of the title being "Pissed." Ironically most of the feedback on here is also very positive, with exception to the idiots complaining about vehicles breaking down months to years after they purchased. Anyone with half of a brain knows that no one can predict the future or vehicle repairs for that matter. So moving on; I myself am a 5 tour Veteran and the Flags displayed in the news special caught my eye because most businesses are fearful of displaying their support of both Police and Military. When I arrived at Footh Auto Sales they certainly backed up this support and I was also very impressed by how professional they were. No fancy suits or high pressure salesmen, but rather a group of guys that you feel comfortable around. Fast forwarding, I left the lot in a sweet looking truck. Footh gave me a fair amount on my trade in and were able to get me an awesome rate of 2.99% I can say with certainty that I will be referring everyone I know to these guys!

Footh Auto Sales are CROOKS.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

These guys are CROOKS and will do whatever they can to sell you a vehicle. I say this because I see all these positive reviews and wonder where everyone is getting the Kool Aid from.

I bought a 2009 Cadillac CTS that Footh Auto had advertised on Facebook. The entire reason I even called them was because they claimed the Vehicle had a current 100,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty. I called them and was told to come in and drive it. I did and loved the car.

They told me it was Ben Footh's personal vehicle that he was selling. After speaking with Tony and Ben about how great of a car it was I knew I had to leave with it. Wanting to have it immediately I fed in to all of their sales pitches. They assured me that I did not need to have an additional warranty through the lender (Credit Acceptance) because the car still was covered and "it would be a waste of money." I on top of it they had me sign a purchased as is agreement which specifically said "sold as-is, no warranty." When this was presented to me I questioned it and was informed that it simply means I'm not purchasing an additional warranty and it has an existing warranty that is a part of the as is agreement.

I obliged and signed thinking that it made sense. I got the car and not even three months later the engine blew. It was before my first oil change was supposed to be due. I brought the car to my mechanic who informed me that there was build up of metal shavings in the oil and filter that was from a preexisting problem.

They said this would have appeared in previous oil changes prior to the engine blowing. I had the car towed to Wally McCarthy's Cadillac where I was informed that they agreed with my mechanic but that there was no additional warranty ever purchased on this vehicle and the original warranty had been expired for 2 years. Furious I called Ben Footh who was very rude about it and acted like he got paid so it's my problem now. Luckily when the ad was posted I printed it off and still had it.

I was able to begin a lawsuit against them because I saved the ad proving they were advertising this vehicle with a warranty. My lawyer showed me the response from Ben Footh where he claimed that the vehicle in the ad was the same exact everything but mine was not it because he supposedly had 2 of them for sale. This made zero sense to me and my lawyer. We then requested him to prove that the vehicle in the picture was not my vehicle and prove he had 2 for sale at the same time.

He was unable to and stopped correspondences. I have been in a 2 year legal limbo with Credit Acceptance. They are not calling me or making an attempt to repossess the vehicle because then they will be breaking the law. They are just reporting it against my credit.

Now I'm stuck with a vehicle with a broken engine and unsure if I should ever get it fixed because of this. I don't know if they are going to take it or help or what is going to happen.

Dealers make money on selling extended warrantys... but you're saying they refused to?

I'm also calling BS, especially since every other review on them including mine is off the charts positive.

I had an issue with the alternator on my car 2 months after, I called Ben Footh. He scheduled the appointment personally and covered the repair completely.

I even told him up front that I was not expecting Footh to pay for it but rather just a discount on fixing it. This is one of the few car dealers I would say that I whole heartedly trust.

Guest

Metal Shavings? Yeah so I have been a mechanic for 16 years, this is from not changing your oil.

My guess would be your attorney gave up because he knows that you are to blame for the vehicles engine failing. Regardless this is nothing the Dealer could have known was going to happen.

Guest

I call BS, theres NO WAY anyone can predict when a vehicle will breakdown. 2 years later and you still have the vehicle?

Sounds like theres a lot more to the story you are not sharing.

I purchased a vehicle from Fooths Auto 3 years ago and no issues outside of having regular maintenance. I've sent down 2 friends who also were treated right with no issues.

There COMPLAINTS are Almost ALL POSITIVE REVIEWS!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I couldn't believe that there were actually 18 complaints against the guys at Footh! Then I clicked the link and started laughing because almost all of these are GOOD reviews!

Haha! Well let me piggy back these; my experience was exceptional. I purchased a Pickup truck and Front start to finish the entire transaction was beyond pleasant. I was never pressured or pushed into anything aspect of the sale; this surprised me because I've had this happen for just about every vehicle I bought prior.

Want to know my favorite thing about Footh Auto? It's a 90 lb Doberman named Kimbur. She is the owners dog who is brought to the dealership every day to hang out. What an amazing animal!!

While I waited for my approval she laid next to me on the couch and snuggled up. I watched her as people came and went and every time she was happy to see everyone. I wish I could buy her! But the Owner made it pretty clear that she was an important part of his family and I now know why!

Don't be intimidated by her look, she is the nicest dog I have ever met!!! Oh and yes my truck still runs like new! When I bought it they gave me a detailed service history and showed me that they put over $2500 Into making sure it was safe and ready. So...

sorry if you were looking for a bad review, I have a hard time believing these guys would intentionally screw anyone over. If you stop by to see them you will see what I mean.
